Not voting. If we can send a political message by voting either Repubelican or Demoncrat then can't we send as effective of a message by not voting? At this point, I feel like it would better illustrate my feelings of the candidates by not voting than to take the "lesser of two evils" approach that I did with the previous election. Lets start with my views rather than the only point you care about... my team.<br /> First and foremost. I am not on any of the established teams. I am not Red, Blue, or Green. I am fiscally and governmentally conservative. Leave the markets to move in the laissez-faire fashion. The only intervention that there needs to be is to keep the companies accountable. I do not, however, believe in tax breaks for the corporations, but in the same light, punishing them for success by taxing them higher doesn't make any sense either. Taxing the successful for being successful is punishment and is wrong. If a company has done something right then they deserve the money they make for it. The rich should not be punished for intelligent investment decisions either. They should neither be rewarded. Their rewards should be in the wealth that they have acquired. The rich should be personally compelled to help those less fortunate, not forced by taxes to pay for someone's lack of success.<br /> The lower income individuals should be more compelled to better themselves than to rely on the government to "robin hood" funds for them. That is called competition, it is fair, legal, and natural. All those who are fortunate should be compelled to help those below them and not chastise those above.</p> <p>I believe that the government should be minimal and that states should have more jurisdiction concerning crimes of it's citizens than the government. The government should be as it is taught to be. A system to keep itself and other smaller systems in check, not to make decisions for them. The government is also not designed to serve as world police, and should not act as such. The government is meant to serve <em>the people</em>. Those people are the one's of its country, not those of foreign countries. Again, we should be compelled out of values to want to help those less fortunate, not made to through taxes. </p> <p>The tax rate should be flat across the board. Not tiered. Because of some deals, and ordering it through my schools member purchase program, it came to $983 with the fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, 250GB hard drive, 3GB ram, WLED widescreen (1440x900), ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3450, Intel core 2 duo 2.0GHz (T5750). As a free bonus I get a 1GB Flip digital video recorder. I am really excited about this order. More so than I was about the Inspiron 1725 I ordered last month then canceled. I feel like this was a much wiser decision in the long run given that I do so much work on the go. </p> <p>Unfortunately, the first thing I am going to have to do when it comes in is wipe the hard drive, partition it the way I like it, and reinstall windows. Maybe even before that I will have to install my Bluetooth module I bought for my last laptop and take out the 1GB stick of memory and replace it with my existing 2GB from the dead M1210, bringing my total memory to 4GB. Not bad. I just wish that this laptop, like the 17inch models, had room for two hard drives. I'd, then, have a use for the near new 250GB drive from the M1210.</p> <p>The Flip cam is supposed to ship tomorrow and the Studio 15 is targeted for August 5. Plain and simple. However, Locke will be alive in season 5. Not only will he be alive, the season will focus around what happened in the time span between the Oceanic 6 leaving the island, and the death of John Locke (Jeremy Bentham). The season will either conclude or begin with the last day of season 4 being relived and a different decision being made, as was the case in the story "<a href="http://www.mysterytales40.com/march-has-32-days-last-story-from-the-mystery-tales-40-comic-book-96555" target="_blank">March has 32 Days</a>" found in the comic book placed before young John Locke at the end of season 4.</p> <p>The full theory: Since time travel, in some form, is a given in the series, we can expect it to play an important roll in the returning of the Oceanic 6 to the island. I believe we will see either a "do over" time period as found in "<a href="http://www.mysterytales40.com/march-has-32-days-last-story-from-the-mystery-tales-40-comic-book-96555" target="_blank">March has 32 Days</a>" or a chance to completely cancel out what happened the day Flight 815 crashed, negating the entire story. A sort of "this is how life was supposed to be" conclusion.</p> <p>Theories I am working out:</p> <ul> <li>Charlie died when The Swan DHARMA station imploded. His spirit/essence (like Walt's) still remains on the island. Desmond's visions of Charlie's deaths spawn from the island wanting to surpress Charlie's spirit.</li> <li>Claire died when the house in "New Otherton" was blown up. Her spirit/essence is what survived (thus, the Chinese guy could see her differently than everyone else). She remains for the purpose of her baby as well as her separation from Charlie.</li> <li>As it has been pointed out in some theories, characters seem to fully die after they reach a certain personal/emotional clarity. Boone was able to get over his issue with his step-sister Shannon. Shannon got over Boone and was able to fall in love with Sayid. Mr. Eko came to terms with his personal sins, his indirect murder of his brother, and his destiny on the island. Charlie, while overcoming his drug addiction, may have physically died but he did not die satisfied with his life. Thus his spirit stayed around until he became useful and was released. Something similar will be the case with Claire.</li> <li>Horace Mathematician and Jacob are both in the same situation as Claire and Charlie.</li> <li>None of those that left the island can die off of the island (as was seen with Michael). This will be something of a chronological issue in my opinion.</li> <li>Time runs normal on the island and off the island (that is, a 24 hour day) but due to the time anomaly, they cannot be in sync again. As a plot dilemma, the island will probably never be capable of being in sync with earth.</li> <li>I am not ruling out a pendulum based time theory... I will need to make an animation to illustrate this concept.</li> <li>Time shifting caused the "Black Rock" to be picked up by the island, not the "Black Rock" running aground on the island.</li> <li>It was pointed out to me that there is a possibility that the "hostiles" and the island natives could be different groups.</li> <li>I am not ruling out the possibility of some of the "Black Rock" crew/slaves are not/were not part of the "hostiles" or descendants being some of the natives. Richard Alpert (known to me as "Eyebrows" for his serious... eyebrows) could be part of one or both of the native groups.</li> </ul> <p>I think that is all I can offer up right now. While many do not mess with the media side of the XBOX 360, I do; and often. So I was more than pleased to see Netflix join with Microsoft to deliver more than 10,000 (according to netflix) movies and televsion show episodes. On top of this the current dashboard system will be completely redone switching to a more web 2.0/Apple interface that functions very similarly to Windows Media Center. I like that all things gaming will be moved to one page. I never liked having to dig through menu after menu to find that game I downloaded.</p> <p>XBOX will also implement a new avatar feature that is a customizable character that represents you in the new XBOXLive party feature. While a blatant ripp-off of the Nintendo Miis, Microsoft uses the characters to denote freinds online, and have them as characters in the new Live gameshow channel. This is a fantastic feature, but I find myself wondering what will happen to all of the gamer pictures people have downloaded? Will they map to shirts for the characters? Or will they be a kind of key to download new clothing/character customization options? I see Microsoft making characters from games as avatar options, and if that is the case, we will no doubt see a huge number of Master Chiefs and Arbiters. Me? I think I'd choose some sort of race driver (Forza), a Heavy (TF2:Orange Box), or Gordon Freeman (HL2:Orange Box). However, this is just speculation.</p> <p>The game line-up didn't impress me much, to be honest. I have never played Gears of War so the sequel does nothing for, and Guitar Hero Word Tour will not have the pleasure of entering my home...
